According to the National Bureau of Statistics, more than 80% of the households in rural Nigeria use Kerosene and firewood fuel for cooking. This means that much demand is placed on the little forest reserve that Nigeria has which is fast disappearing, (less than 7.7% forest cover). Way below the 10% global recommended levels.
On the other hand, Statistics from the World Health Organization (WHO) revealed that over 98,000 Nigerian women die annually from smokes inhaled while cooking with firewood. Which is now the 3rd highest killer after Malaria and HIV? And Kerosene usage is the leading cause of Lung Cancer and Leukemia globally.
Our Mothers must NOT Continue to sacrifice their lives just because they want to cook the food we are going to eat. NO WAY!

We aim to alleviate Energy Poverty, focusing on eco-friendly energy solutions, particularly in underserved communities within Nigeria.

We're combatting the effects of Climate Change induced by the use of firewood and other fossil fuels for cooking within low-income households and rural communities in Nigeria.

SMOKELESS BRIQS ENERGY Solutions is an eco-inclusive social enterprise born out of a desire to save our mothers from respiratory health challenges and save the environment from Climate Change by providing environmentally friendly and affordable clean energy solutions for cooking, charging of mobile phones and lighting.
We have developed clean energy technologies to solve energy poverty in under-served communities, Save our environment from Climate Change and also Save our Mothers from Carbon Poisoning and Respiratory Health Challenges.
By leveraging innovative clean energy technologies, we aim to create a healthier, more sustainable future for our communities and the planet.
When my father passed away in 2021, along with the weight of grief, we faced an unexpected financial struggle. Unable to afford cooking with gas, my mother resorted to the ancient methods of cooking with firewood. As she prepared our meals, thick plumes of smoke filled our kitchen. And every time I stepped in to lend a hand, my frustration grew stronger.
But amidst my exasperation, a moment of clarity dawned upon me. This wasn't just our struggle; it was a reality for countless mothers across the world especially in rural communities in Nigeria. Someone has to do something and that’s how I got involved
